ABOUT ME:
For 25 years, I’ve helped people find their footing and navigate meaningful change.
But three years ago, a health crisis took my voice, and I had to stop teaching about resilience and start living it.
That experience changed how I understand this work.
I’m not just a consultant, I’m a strategist who has navigated the same kinds of disruption, uncertainty, and pressure that I now help others move through.
I know what it’s like when what used to work no longer does. And I know how to help people reconnect to what matters, realign how they operate, and move forward in a way that actually holds.
I used to teach this work. Then I had to live it.

Here's What That Looks Like:
Moving from Crisis Mode to Consistency
I’ve spent 25 years helping individuals and organizations move out of constant reaction and into a more grounded, consistent way of operating—one that holds, even under pressure.
Building Cultures That Can Hold Under Pressure
From local teams to large-scale systems, I’ve helped organizations identify what truly matters and create practices that keep them steady, even when everything around them is shifting.
Translating Big Ideas into Daily Practice
My background in therapy, consulting, and training taught me that meaningful change isn’t abstract—it shows up in how decisions are made every day. I help you cut through the noise and focus on the actions that actually move things forward.
Turning Friction into Agency
I’ve worked with countless people who felt stuck or uncertain. I help you identify where things are out of alignment, where your leverage points are, and how to move forward using your values as a guide.
Professional Background
Katie has spent her career working alongside individuals and organizations navigating complexity and change, helping them uncover what matters most and turn those values into grounded, actionable steps that restore clarity, agency, and momentum. Her background as a dually-licensed clinician and behavioral health advocate continues to inform her trauma-responsive, systems-based approach.
What Sets Katie Apart
What sets Katie apart is her ability to use storytelling and candor, with equal amounts of humor and compassion, to create open exchange and a sense of hopefulness, allowing people to redefine goals, find common ground, and work more authentically and collaboratively, in both policy and practice.

Her Approach
Katie believes that our personal core values can serve as a powerful template for creating concrete actions, both personally and professionally. Through keynotes, workshops, and strategic individual consultations, she combines the power of story with concrete actions to help individuals and organizations build a sense of agency and greater hopefulness.
"Hope is the belief that the future can be better than today, and that we have the power to make it so. Hope is a cognitive process; it’s a way of thinking rather than a feeling or an emotion we may have."
Chan Hellman, PhD, Professor, Director of The Hope Research Center
"Story is a medicine which strengthens and rights the individual and the community."
Clarissa Pinkola Estés, PhD, Author
Mission & Vision
Through Katie Morris Henson LLC, Katie provides professional services that she deeply believes in. Her passion for making this available to everyone led to the founding of Our Story Exchange, a philanthropic project offering free workshops to groups and organizations seeking ways to engage and create community around shared values and goals to achieve the things that matter to them.
